‘Couple Or Not?’ commissioned in Thailand, Russia and Hungary following its successful launch on C8 in France
February 19, 2018

Vivendi Entertainment is glad to announce that it has licensed its newly launched format “COUPLE OR NOT?” in Thailand, where Zense has started production for series 1 (26 daily episodes) to be aired in July on Channel 3 (2d largest free to air network).

VE also sold the show in Hungary where TV2 is producing 25 episodes to air daily in early primetime in the coming weeks, hoping to renew the success of “Guess My Age”, another Vivendi format, which has propelled the Hungarian channel ahead of its competitors on a daily basis (and recorded a 30% increase on commercial targets from Season 1).

In Russia, VE has partnered with Mastiff to produce a first series for UTV (25 episodes to air daily in Spring), following a successful run of GUESS MY AGE series 1, last September (series 2 starts in March).

In Italy, Magnolia, part of the Banijay Group is exclusively developing the local adaptation, cementing its relationship with VE, as it currently produces the daily hit “Guess My Age” series for TV8 (part of the Sky Group).

In Spain, VE has granted Xanela Producciones (which produces the ITV Studios’ “The Alphabet Game” daily on Telecinco), an exclusive option to develop and produce a local adaptation.

These deals are the first one to be announced following the very successful first series in France, launched on C8 daily during the Christmas holidays:

In average on series 1 (20 episodes), and in spite of a strong competition (especially “The Wall”‘s return on TF1), the series scored massive increases in ratings among all commercial targets >

• +27% among 25-49 vs Sept-Dec 2017 (+31% vs a year ago)
• +41% among 15-34 vs Sept-Dec 2017 (+53% vs a year ago)
• +62% among Women under 50 vs Sept-Dec 2017 (+62% vs a year ago)

More deals should follow soon on the format which Deadline Hollywood selected in its “10 formats to watch for in 2018”.

Matthieu Porte, Vivendi Entertainment’s EVP International & Development, says “After making “Guess My Age” one of the most adapted formats of 2017, we have decided to play with another universal theme: guessing who is in a relationship! The successful French start and these first adaptations make us believe we were right and we are now willing to partner with as many networks, producers and brands in the coming months.”
