DR in Denmark preps Can’t Stop’s French interview format ‘The A Talks’ (C21Media)
December 13, 2023

DR in Denmark will soon become the latest broadcaster to launch a local version of autism-themed interview format The A Talks from London-based distributor Can’t Stop Media.

Copenhagen-based Strong Productions will produce the show in Denmark and its parent company, production and distribution giant Fremantle, has also optioned rights to the format in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

The format was created by Quad+Ten and Kiosco TV, part of Webedia-owned Elephant Group, and started life as Les Rencontres du Papotin in 2022 on pubcaster France 2, which began airing its second season in September.

The show sees famous faces interviewed by 30 journalists with Autism Spectrum Disorder with the aim of revealing a side to the interviewees that has not been seen in previous press interviews.

The show’s first two guests in Denmark will be prime minister Mette Frederiksen and singer Thomas Helmig.

It will launch on DR1 in Denmark on December 25, while the Spanish version began airing on Mediaset España-owned Telecinco yesterday, under the title 100% Unicos and with Antonio Banderas as the first guest.

Warner Bros Discovery-owned Polish commercial network TVN also recently began airing its own version of the show, while Warner Bros International TV Production has rights in Flemish-speaking Belgium and the Netherlands.

Options have also been agreed with Ballandi in Italy, Seapoint in Germany, Avanti in Quebec, Rockerdale Studios in the UK, Banijay in Portugal, Helium in Australia and New Zealand and Kite Entertainment in Ireland.
