NELONEN COMMISSIONS GLOBAL HIT FORMAT “THE A TALKS” IN FINLAND
May 20, 2026

CAN’T STOP media, the boutique formats distribution company based in London, announces that its uplifting interview format “The A-Talks” will be launching in Finland after being commissioned by Nelonen. This brings to a total of 21 versions for the hit format.

In Finland, Fremantle is currently shooting 8 episodes for the first season, which will air weekly in primetime on commercial channel Nelonen in the second half of the year. The channel is also working with sister publication Helsingin Sanomat, the leading daily newspaper in the country, for special editorial pieces that will sit along the broadcast and run across all the digital ecosystem of the group.

Entitled “Epätyypillisesti” (meaning “Atypically” in English), the show will feature some of the countries’ most famous personalities, including A-List comedians, singers and musicians, writers, sport athletes and leading political figures, to be interviewed by a remarkable group of inquisitive interviewers who are autistic, neurodivergent and/or learning disabled. In all countries, the group is built with the support of health organizations and NGO’s, working closely to help people on the spectrum manage their condition. Celebrities will face the grilling of a lifetime as no subject is out of bounds, no question is off the table. In “The A-Talks”, anything can happen.

These three new commissions come as the format continues its successful run across major territories:

  • France: Now in its 4th season on France 2, reaching new all-time high ratings.
  • United Kingdom: Season 2 premiered this April on ITV1, following an RTS Award win and a 2026 BAFTA TV Award nomination.
  • Brazil: Season 2 to premiere this Sunday 24 May on Globo.
  • Poland: Season 3 is currently airing on TVN.
  • Canada: Season 2 has been commissioned by both CBC and ICI Radio-Canada.
  • Spain: Season 2 is currently airing weekly on Cuatro while series 1 received the Rose d’Or Latinos Award for Best Factual.
  • Wales: S4C has ordered two additional seasons.
  • Norway: The Gullruten Award-winning show returns in 2026 for Season 3 on NRK, where it stands as the channel’s top-ranked program.
  • Israel: Season 2 has entered production for Keshet 12, following the success of its 14-episode debut season.

Damien Porte, cofounder at CAN’T STOP media, states: “It’s a great thrill to see this bold, unpredictive but genuine chat show reaching new audiences around the world. The positive impact the format has, everywhere it has aired, in terms of press and outreach through social media platforms is nailing it for all partners involved and we are honored to be part of such success. We can’t wait to announce more territories very soon!”

Lasse Nikkari, Head of Formats and Branded Entertainment at Nelonen, says: “The A Talks is an exceptional format: internationally successful, boldly distinctive, and for that very reason, a perfect addition to Nelonen’s lineup. We have followed the format’s remarkable journey from the very beginning, and ultimately its success spoke for itself. We are extremely proud and excited to bring this truly unique show to Finnish audiences.
