Make Me Laugh (On n’demande qu’à en rire in France) is a fast-paced competition where emerging comedians perform original, topical sketches inspired by current headlines.
In each daily one-hour episode, four comedians, professional or amateur, take the stage to perform an original sketch. Each routine is written by the contestant (solo or with co-writers) based on a news topic assigned by the host.
After performing, contestants are scored by the host, a panel of 3 judges and the studio audience. Those with high enough scores can come back the following week, while the others are eliminated.
Thus, the most talented performers can stay for months in the show, building a fan base week after week.
Scalable, cost-effective, and virally driven, it delivers universal, topical entertainment for any global market. The show aired for 4 seasons on France 2 from 2010 to 2014, Monday to Friday at 6:00p, for a total of 630 episodes, with numerous spin-offs including primetime and summer specials, 18 sold-out live shows at the Casino de Paris.
It is now the #1 YouTube channel in the comedy genre in France with 700+ million total views and 600k subscribers.
